Rooted in the dynamic landscape of Washington, DC, my artistic journey commenced at Archbishop Carroll High School and blossomed at Pratt Institute, where I earned a BFA in art direction in 2002. This degree became my guiding compass, propelling me into a captivating exploration of visual creativity and laying the foundation for an unforeseen passion for the captivating world of art.
Enchanted by the expressive power of visual art, I became a driving force behind the Oktave Nerv production ensemble, orchestrating symphonies of visual elements while simultaneously crafting narratives through album covers and freelance projects. A diverse professional journey unfolded—from crafting immersive window displays and visual epilogues at the iconic Virgin Megastore in Times Square to a decade-long chapter at Starbucks, where I ascended to the role of Store Manager. Amidst these adventures, art patiently awaited its encore, sometimes lingering in the wings.
As the world underwent a collective metamorphosis during the pandemic, I found myself at a poignant juncture in DC, where personal renewal intertwined with the rhythm of my mother's health. Through connections with kindred spirits and the therapeutic embrace of self-discovery, a personal Renaissance unfolded. The introduction of AI-infused artistry brought a technicolor spectrum to my creations, rooted in African American Sci-Fi—a genre now known as afrofuturism. Poised on the brink of a new chapter, I am set to launch my digital atelier, The House Of Schuyler, inviting you to join the unfolding crescendo of past and future in harmony. With over 3,000 spirited followers on Instagram, my creative voyage resonates, offering prints and merchandise bearing the spirit of boundless imagination. Stand ready, for the canvas of possibility knows no bounds.
